Natural finish models were the J-50, an otherwise almost identical guitar. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis lovely Gibson J-45 Custom Sunburst dates to April 8th of 2015 at Bozeman and is in very good, clean condition with only light wear.  It plays well, and has that warm, full J-45 sound.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSold with its original black Gibson branded hard shell case containing picks, a capo, strings and a Snark tuner. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eMaterials and Construction\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTraditionally the Gibson J-45 has used four woods - Spruce for the top, Mahogany for the sides, back, body blocks and neck, Rosewood for the bridge and unbound fingerboard and a bit of Maple or Maple laminate for the bridge plate.  In some cases a bit of black-stained Holly was used for the headstock overlay.   \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Gibson J-45 Custom alters this basic formula with options for the sides and back, and this example uses Indian Rosewood.  The fingerboard is bound, the top has a Herringbone purfling layer inside the binding, and the rosette includes an Abalone ring.  Abalone is also used for the 'snowflake' inlay set on the fingerboard and bridge, and for the floral inlay below the Mother of Pearl Gibson logo. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAs a modern Gibson acoustic, it is factory-fitted with an L R Baggs Element pickup and preamp system, the controls tucked under the bass edge of the sound hole. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ctable width=\"100%\" style=\"width: 100%;
