The finish is consistent under blacklight when compared side by side with other guitars of the period. There is evidence of a possible headstock crack repair inside the truss rod access cavity, however this is inconclusive. There appears to be neck heel repair under the finish on the back of the body\/neck joint. The neck pickup cavity has been enlarged somewhat, but the white finish is covering this enlargement. The ground wire under the tailpiece is also partially covered by white finish. There are several spots around the inside of the control cavity where the white finish appears to have been chipped and finished over. In addition, the guitar appears to have originally had a side pull vibrato. For all these reasons we believe this to be a Gibson factory refinish.
