We chose light weight African Ribbon mahogany for the backs and rare solid Honduran rosewood for the neck blanks. This is combined with a Madagascar rosewood fingerboard. Both of these rare Rosewood varieties are getting very scarce and PRS cannot confirm that these woods will be available for us to order in the future. So we had to get while the gettin' is good. The solid Honduran rosewood neck was implemented on 25th Dragon edition and we feel that this wood is as musical and toneful as Brazilian rosewood which has not been available from PRS for years. It provides a wallop in the low end and a very sweet top end, with a powerful low mid grunt.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe also chose uncovered 59\/09 pickups for these guitars. The result is a very clear, yet powerful tone that is very balanced up and down the neck.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAll of the woods were hand picked by our staff and we choose some of the newest stains that the innovative Private Stock team are now offering.
