This is a classic sunburst 1954 Gibson SJ Southern Jumbo slope shoulder dreadnought. Beautiful original finish on this vintage guitar, with expected weather checks and a few nicks and dings, yet it's crack-free. Bridge is an exact size and shape replacement, made of Brazilian Rosewood. The neck has been reset and there is minor touch up on the heel from finish chipping from the neck set. The neck is very straight with nice, original frets. Perfect saddle height and playability. The tuners are non-original Grover Rotomatics but original or original-style tuners could be easily added to this SJ for a more classic look. Some Gibsons are better than others when it comes to sound - this one is exceptional and has strong bass without being muddy. It has clear and bright mids and highs with just the right amount of that Gibson compression. Great for vocal back up, swing chords, open tunings, flat pick or finger picking. This 1954 Gibson SJ guitar includes a modern hard case.
