ON-HOLD… Beautiful 1959 Gibson Les Paul Junior in Cherry Red—a very clean, 100% original example with the original alligator chipboard case in nice shape. This is also the rarer factory black pickguard version. Unlike the usual celluloid tortoise guards, the black guard looks nearly untouched and feels like it’ll never age.

The guitar is in excellent vintage condition, with only a few light marks here and there. If not for a bit of cord rash on the back, an owner’s ID number on the heel, and a few stray marks, it would be close to minty. The cherry finish is vibrant with virtually no finish checking, which is unusual for a ’59. Just a few very shallow finish checks on the back of the neck.

Strong P-90 pickup, plays easy, and sounds exactly like a good Junior should. Just a great, no-nonsense doublecut Vintage Les Paul Junior from the magical year—1959!
