A beautifully weird slice of early-'80s Gibson history. The Firebird II CMT (Curly Maple Top) Artist was a short-lived experiment loaded with active electronics, Moog-designed expansion capabilities, and a carved maple cap over a mahogany body—bringing a touch of Les Paul elegance to the offset beast. Dual humbuckers, TP-6 tailpiece, onboard compression/expander controls, and no shortage of knobs and switches to twist and tweak.
This one’s seen some play, but it’s clean where it counts and totally functional. A cult favourite for collectors who appreciate Gibson’s more esoteric era. Includes a brand new SKB hardcase.
