A twenty years old mahogany Collings Winfield that's been played a lot, but by a careful owner so playing wear is slight. Gryphon did a partial refret, and glued an open seam between the two halves of the Adirondack top (a 3-inch crack in the lower side was repaired & cleated several years ago).
This model used to be named after flat picking legend Clarence White, and the combination of Adirondack top and larger soundhole gives it a powerful tone for that playing style. The typical Collings mahogany D clarity is there, but with an additional warmth and openness that comes across with the first chord. As a result, this is a highly versatile guitar that both responds to a light touch and also has all the headroom a heavier picker might prefer. Needless to say, it has all the unplugged volume you could want regardless of your playing style.
