2010 Gibson Custom Shop SLASH AFD Les Paul Appetite for Destruction Signature Model VOS | Kris Derrig

Here is a stunningly beautiful 2010 Gibson Custom Shop Slash “Appetite For Destruction” AFD VOS Les Paul Signature Model, easily one of the best signature Les Paul models Gibson has produced in our opinion.

This is the famous model based on Slash’s Kris Derrig-built Les Paul, recreating the look and feel of the guitar heard throughout the legendary Appetite For Destruction era.

This particular example features a killer flametop in the iconic Butterscotch finish, though the figuring is especially interesting here — it almost blends flame, quilt, and slight burl character all together, giving the top tremendous movement and personality. It’s an exceptionally attractive and unique-looking top.

The guitar appears to be 100% original, with the only exception being the current strap buttons. If desired, we can reinstall the original buttons prior to shipping.

Condition is excellent overall and very close to mint, with only a couple tiny indentations to note. It also appears to have been professionally PLEK’d by Glaser in Nashville, which certainly contributes to how exceptionally well this one plays.

As expected with these early AFD models, the neck is nice and chunky, measuring approximately 0.92” at the 1st fret and 1.06” at the 12th fret, giving it a substantial late-’50s style feel.

This is also a particularly lightweight example at just 8.5 lbs, making it very resonant and comfortable.

Tonally, it absolutely delivers the goods — warm, vocal midrange, great sustain, and the aggressive yet articulate character that made these models so popular.

It comes complete with all the original case candy including the matching original hardshell case, COA, and paperwork as shown.
