A Seamless Blend of Brilliance, Projection, and the classic Bach Sound - The Bach Stradivarius 190SM37X Bb Trumpet - Silver-Plated
The 190SM37X Bb Trumpet is one of the most versatile instruments in Bach's history, offering a perfect balance for both orchestral and commercial players. With its .456" bore size, this trumpet excels at providing orchestral players with a beautiful, rich sound and agile response, even when using larger mouthpieces. Commercial players, particularly those seeking a compact and focused sound in the upper register, will find this instrument exceptionally easy to play. The lightweight nickel inner slides and nickel balusters prevent sound break-up even at extreme dynamics, while the true French bead bell ensures unparalleled projection.
Drawing on some of Bach's most iconic features, including Mount Vernon-style bell construction and New York-style cast nickel Z braces, the 190M37X combines vintage craftsmanship with modern precision. The leadpipe has been redesigned for consistent accuracy and performance across all playing styles.
Bach’s Research & Development team meticulously studied the company’s most famous historic horns to fine-tune the valve cluster's weight, materials, and assembly, resulting in faster response times and enhanced vibrancy. The 190M37X retains the timeless Bach sound, coupled with modern improvements for today’s demanding players.
- The 190M37X is constructed on a Medium Plus (M+) .456" two-piece valve chassis, featuring nickel balusters, lightweight nickel inner slides, brass outer slides, and brass valve guides.
- The reverse Vindabona bore main tuning slide, with a .459" bore top leg and crook and a .456" bore bottom leg, blends the efficiency of a medium bore with the breadth of a medium-large bore trumpet.
- The Mt. Vernon-weight, side seam #37 bell, made from yellow brass with a true French bead, projects sound powerfully and directly toward the audience, thanks to manufacturing techniques reminiscent of the 1950s.
- Narrow wrap nickel Z braces and a brass first slide brace provide the most efficient, responsive feel of any Bach trumpet to date.
- The lightweight nickel inner slides, paired with the Mt. Vernon-weight French bead bell, produce a brilliant and electrifying sound without sacrificing the rich core of a standard-weight horn.
