Collings Acoustic Guitars - 0001SB Cutaway

This Collings 0001SB Cutaway, serial# 24032, is similar to the Collings 00, only slightly larger and with a longer string scale - and while it's the same width and depth as an OM, it has a longer body that is bassier and voluminous. This particular model is also loaded with high-end appointments on top of its already impeccable build materials. It features a graceful cutaway and is made with a select Sitka Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides. The pre-war scalloped bracing is installed without the usual tongue brace, thus allowing the top to vibrate more freely for a more open-sounding guitar. All together, this 0001 is ideal for guitarists who want a comfortable player with maximum volume and old-time aesthetic.

It has a 25 1/2" scale length and a wide 1 13/16" nut width that's especially good for fingerstyle and classical players. The neck is made from Mahogany and has a Modified V profile and a fully adjustable truss rod, while the fingerboard is Ebony and has 20 medium-sized frets. This guitar also has a solid headstock with binding rather than the standard slotted headstock. The string spacing at the drop-in-style bone saddle is 2 5/16" and the Ebony pyramid-style bridge looks great. Its added appointments included tortoise-style binding and a high gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish top and bottom; a tortoise-style pickguard; an elegant black/white wood nitrate strip rosette; headstock and fingerboard binding with mother-of-pearl dot inlays; black/white wood purfling on its back and a 3-style backstrip; and Nickel Waverly tuners with Ebony #4067 buttons.
