This Builder’s Choice D2H from Collings Guitars is the custom voiced model based on their Traditional Series, that was recently on display in Chicago at the 2023 Fretboard Summit. Featuring an Adirondack spruce top along with a beautiful set of Madagascar Rosewood back and sides, this 14-Fret dreadnought has a fabulous low-end response that really stands out, along with a nice midrange push and open high-end. A truly lovely guitar that we're happy to have the opportunity to not only get to know here at the shop, but to present to you all as a Collings dealer.
The Madagascar Rosewood back and sides really are incredible, and increasingly rare to find in dreadnought sizes with this sort of straight grain. Subtle details like the neck carve being a little more full in the first position, without in any way being chunky, the gorgeous stain match on the mahogany neck, headstock veneer and rosewood back and sides, all add up to really make this custom voiced guitar look as good as it sounds, which of course is a cliché in the guitar world, but is it ever true on this D2H.
