About the D2H from Collings:

‘The square-shouldered 14-fret dreadnought is the most popular steel-string acoustic guitar body shape in the world. While Collings is certainly not the only company to build them, we bring a new tonal clarity to the depth and warmth usually associated with such a large, deep-bodied guitar.

Although its bass response makes the dreadnought ideal for vocal accompaniment, Collings versions are also often employed by bluegrass flatpickers who must compete with inherently louder instruments such as banjos and fiddles. The wide range of woods and neck sizes offered allow dreadnought fans to find a Collings model ideally suited to their playing style and tonal preference.’

This Collings absolutely sings, with its lovely rosewood dreadnought body the sustain and resonance of this guitar is immediately apparent. The modified V neck feels fantastic in the hand and plays very nicely, and it is a beautiful guitar to look at with its stunning rosewood and mahogany pairings and intricate detailed binding and inlay.

This guitar comes with a Fishman AG-094 pickup installed by industry respected luthier Piers Crocker, which sounds great, and really brings to life the guitars amazing natural qualities. Piers also setup the guitar.

Cosmetically, this D2H is in great condition, with hardly a mark on it. There is some lacquer lifting on the top side of fret 1 & 2 but looks fairly well contained. There is some early stage fretwear but plenty of life left in the frets. The neck is unblemished, and the body and headstock show very little wear, if at all. There is some very light pickwear on the pickguard.

Overall, this Collings D2H is a great guitar, with a lovely robust sound, feels great to play and looks amazing. Yet another wonderful instrument from Collings.
