This used 2022 D1from Collings showcases the outstanding sound, playability, and craftsmanship that Collings is know for, with a twist on the classic spruce/mahogany combo.
This "baked", or torrefied, Sitka top features a dryer, more fundamental focused sound, while deemphasizing upper order harmonics. This allows the deep bass and mid-range punch from the mahogany back to really shine through while still being clear and articulate. The gloss nitro finish is as classic as it gets, and looks amazing over the "baked" spruce, giving this guitar a distinguished look to match its authoritative Collings sound.
The modified-V neck profile feels fantastic in the hand, letting the 1 3/4" nut width really shine with a comfortable feel that allows for easy licks up and down the fingerboard. An L.R Baggs Anthem pickup has been installed. There is minor wear on the guitar, with a small dent to the top on the lower bout treble side (see photos) and normal playwear to the body, and pickwear to the guard. Overall in Very Good condition. Comes with the original hardshell case.
