Featuring a pair of Ron Ellis Ellisonics pickups, around which this guitar was designed, this trestle-braced semi-hollow body feels like a super-charged instrument with the notes bursting to get out.
To cater to players who yearned for a fixed tailpiece but still desired the break-over angle and resonance of a Bigsby, Collings has engineered a custom trapeze with all of the tone and mojo players love. This particular 470 is our very first to arrive with the new trapeze tailpiece, and as expected the Collings team knocked it out the park, delivering a quicker attack and articulate string response.
Clarity, sparkle, dynamics and some serious resonance thanks to the semi-hollow design, this is one of those guitars that gives you every ounce of your touch and musicality back out in spades.
