This Fairbanks F-40 acoustic guitar is a modern interpretation of what has become a vintage classic. Modeled after a J-185, this F-40 features a Red Spruce top, paired with Maple back and sides producing a clarity that is hard to find on models of this size. The dovetail-joined neck combines Honduran Mahogany with a Madagascar Rosewood fingerboard accented by Split Parallelogram inlays.
The 1 3/4" bone nut and 2 3/8" string spacing provides the perfect platform for fingerstyle playing, but it certainly sings when strummed or flatpicked, as well. Using hide glue construction techniques throughout, which can increase vibration, effectively turns all that gorgeous tone wood into an integral part of the instrument's projection. Finished off with an Aniline Sunburst applied directly to the wood, wrapped in a nitrocellulose finish, leaves this Fairbanks F-40 a striking example of a traditional guitar. Includes hardshell case and setup from one of our luthiers.
