From the Paris workshop of Jacques Favino we are happy to present this truly iconic Gypsy Jazz guitar. Next to Selmer, Favino is the most recognized name in the world of Jazz Manouche, played by all the greats, from Bireli Lagrene to Stochelo Rosenberg. This Modele 10 from 1977 has the typical Favino dimensions of 16-1/2" across the lower bout and a 670mm scale length. It has an ebony fingerboard, cedar top, Indian rosewood back and sides, and a three-piece maple neck. It sports the original SB tuners (5 buttons are replacements) and original tailpiece.
There is a small repaired headstock crack. The finish is worn but all original. It has the deep bass response for which Favinos are famous. The trebles are clear and punchy, making this an excellent lead as well as rhythm instrument. We are incredibly happy to have this slice of GJ history for sale in our shop.
