Since the early 1980s, the esteemed session guitarist Michael Landau has contributed to hundreds of albums for a diverse range of artists including Joni Mitchell, Seal, Michael Jackson, James Taylor, B.B. King, Pink Floyd, and Miles Davis, among others. Landau has also led several bands such as the Raging Honkies, Burning Water, and more recently, Renegade Creation alongside Robben Ford. With his own ensemble, he continues to set new standards in electric jazz, instrumental, and rock guitar playing.
The Fender Custom Shop Artist Collection Michael Landau Signature 1963 Relic Stratocaster draws inspiration from Landau’s own 1963 Stratocaster. It features a hand-selected lightweight alder body, a special "custom oval C" neck profile, custom hand-wound pickups and wiring, and a distinctive worn Fiesta Red over Three-colour Sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Additional details include a round-laminated dark rosewood fingerboard with a 7.25" radius and 6105 frets, a period-correct small headstock, five-way pickup switching, and a custom vintage-style tremolo bridge.
The guitar is offered with its OHSC, strap, and a Fender Custom Shop certificate of authenticity.
