This spectacular guitar was built to order by top-of-the-line Fender Master Builder John English in 1992. Constructed in Fender's Custom Shop, this guitar is as rare as hen's teeth with its stunning flame/curly maple body, neck and pickguard. We here at Premier Guitars have searched high and low for anything like this Strat and can't find anything similar, making it even more special.
Anyone who knows anything about the Fender Custom Shop knows that Senior Master Builder John English produced some of the most beautiful guitars known to man. His work was highly sought after by many of the world's best guitarists and he crafted many guitars for artists to their specific requirements using the highest quality materials and intricate craftsmanship right up until his untimely death in 2007. John's guitars have only grown in popularity and demand since his passing.
This guitar is based on an Eric Clapton Stratocaster - everything is to Clapton specs with the exception of the bridge, which is of the later cast saddle type which is a lot easier on the strings. The gold hardware up against the maple body is a gorgeous combination, it's a real head-turner!
The dense maple wood used in the construction of this Strat makes the guitar nice and bright in tone and the lace sensor pickups sound excellent delivering noiseless operation and modern tonal versatility. It is a joy to play, super comfortable all the way up the fretboard, you can really feel the attention to detail in your hands when playing one of these high-end Fenders.
