Fender Custom Shop Precision Bass Pro NOS Sonic Blue, 2012 [USED]

This Fender Custom Shop Precision Bass Pro NOS from 2012 - combines an immaculate Sonic Blue finish with high-performance player upgrades. This offers a blend of vintage 1960s aesthetics modern, rock-solid reliability and the tonal versatility of a P-J pickup arrangement. 

This Precision Bass Pro NOS is in very good overall condition, showing light and cosmetic signs of honest play wear adding real character. Most notably, the nitrocellulose lacquer where the player's arm rests has begun to naturally amber and turn a beautiful, organic vintage green. The front of the body exhibits a few minor, small dents in the gloss finish, while the back shows a couple of faint stain dots on the lower bout. The frets show very light wear but have plenty of life ahead of them, suggesting the bass may have spent time strung with flatwounds. 

Sold with its original premium Fender rectangle tweed G&G hard shell case, containing the original Certificate of Authenticity (COA), hang tags and warranty materials.

The Fender Precision Bass Pro NOS is built to modern professional performance standards by the Fender Custom Shop, while retaining the enduring strengths of the 1951 design. 

This bass features a solid alder body finished in a timeless, high-gloss Sonic Blue nitrocellulose lacquer over a poly base coat. The maple neck is a visual showstopper, featuring a premium select rosewood fingerboard with elegant white neck binding and classic pearloid block inlays. The neck profile is carved to a comfortable, fast feel topped with a player-friendly modern 9.5 inch radius and medium-jumbo fretwire. 

In a smart nod to modern stage utility, the input jack has been factory-relocated off the pickguard to a secure, traditional football plate on the side bout of the body, preventing pickguard stress and keeping your cable out of the way.

The hardware on this instrument features as stock a legendary, high-mass Leo Quan Badass Bass II bridge — a zinc-alloy powerhouse renowned for eliminating saddle movement, maximizing string-to-body vibration transfer, and delivering immense natural sustain and low-end clarity.  The Leo Quann Badass Bass II and III were factory installed on higher end basses for some years, with the already developed High-Mass bridge coming into use as illness caused supply issues with Leo Quann products. 

The electronics feature a powerful, versatile PJ pickup layout, pairing a punchy split-coil Precision pickup in the middle with a growling single-coil Jazz pickup at the bridge. This configuration is wired to a classic faux-tortoise P-Bass pickguard, with the lower master tone control where the output jack would be.   Tonally, this is an extremely versatile setup.
