This vintage 1955 Fender Esquire is a super nice, clean, all-original example in Excellent condition. The neck is dated 7-55. The original finish is bright and clean and has very minor nicks, scratches and play wear. The Esquire model, a progenitor of the tele, was one of the first guitars made by Fender, back in 1950, and was favored by Johnny Cash bandmate Luther Perkins whose classic "Boom Chicka Boom" sound is instantly recognizable. Later, Bruce Springsteen, Syd Barrett and even Paul McCartney discovered the Esquire, sometimes modding it with an extra pickup. This particular '55 is original all the way through, plays great and has that unmistakably great sound. The original tweed case is nice inside with medium wear on the outside. Serial #7980.
