The Fox Renard Artist Model 240 is a popular intermediate bassoon choice. The Model 240 is a “short bore” bassoon that is known for being a flexible, free blowing instrument with a strong “singing” quality that most often suits bassoonists looking for an instrument with a bold tone and soloistic qualities. This bassoon is a great choice for advanced students in high school through college, serious amateurs, and advanced school programs.

The Fox T Bocal replaced the CVX and CTX bocal. The T bocal is standard with Renard Artist model 240. The T bocal helps favor the upper partials of the bassoon sound to produce greater flexibility and easy, expressive performance, especially in the high register. The T bocals are manufactured from nickel silver with silver plating.
