The Gibson Custom 1960 Les Paul Standard Reissue captures the final evolution of the legendary “Burst” era, combining historic construction with the faster neck profile that defined the 1960 model year. Finished in VOS Iced Tea Burst, this instrument delivers the visual character of a well-preserved vintage example while maintaining the resonance and feel that made the original Les Paul Standards so revered.
Built with a carved two-piece maple top over a one-piece lightweight mahogany body, the guitar produces the classic Les Paul voice — rich sustain, warm lows, and singing upper harmonics. The VOS nitrocellulose lacquer finish recreates the soft sheen and lightly aged appearance of a vintage instrument while allowing the wood to resonate freely.
The mahogany neck features the iconic 1960 SlimTaper profile, offering a quicker, more streamlined feel than earlier ’50s neck shapes while retaining excellent substance in the hand. A bound Indian rosewood fingerboard with aged trapezoid inlays completes the classic Les Paul aesthetic and provides smooth articulation across all 22 frets.
Electronics include a pair of Custombucker pickups designed to replicate the tone and response of original PAF humbuckers. Paired with CTS 500K audio taper potentiometers and paper-in-oil capacitors, the controls provide exceptional clarity, dynamic sensitivity, and the unmistakable character of a vintage Les Paul Standard.
