The Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville Tennessee is responsible for the highest quality guitars that bear the Gibson name. Their reputation for quality and exacting details has led to them being some of the most sought-after contemporary instruments available. This Les Paul is no exception to this legacy and is a fine example of the iconic Les Paul Custom.
The guitar presents with the iconic black finish with naturally aged (not relic’ed) subtly off white binding on the body and fretboard. This guitar is in virtually mint condition, with no perceivable scratches or marks on the finish. This 2010 Les Paul Custom features an Ebony fretboard, as opposed to the Richlite fretboards introduced shortly thereafter. This guitar features gold hardware throughout, as you might expect with their flagship model.
A weight of 4540 grams means this is one of the lighter Les Pauls out there, which is always a good thing. The neck of this guitar is a very comfortable medium C profile akin to the classic ‘59 profile. There is almost no fretware. The guitar is currently set up with 10-46 gauge strings and plays well all the way up the neck. The pickups are warm and clear, with plenty of humbucker harmonic richness. All in all, this is an excellent example of Gibson’s flagship Les Paul.
