This 1999 Gibson LPR-7 (1957 Les Paul Reissue) comes from the highly regarded pre-CustomBucker era, and showcases the meticulous build quality and attention to detail that defined the late ’90s “Good Wood” period.
Finished in a beautifully aged antique gold, this R7 has developed the kind of natural patina and greening that vintage fans dream of — a warm, subtly faded top with hints of olive-green emerging through the nitro in just the right spots. The only non-original part is a replaced jack plate — otherwise, it’s bone stock and ready to inspire.
These early Historic R7s feature a solid mahogany body with a carved maple top, a chunky 50s neck profile, and a smooth rosewood fingerboard with period-correct inlays and binding. Under the hood are a set of Gibson's early PAF-style pickups, delivering articulate midrange punch, warm lows, and that unmistakable creamy high end that Les Pauls are famous for.
Playability is top-notch thanks to a professional setup — action is spot-on, intonation is dialled in, and the frets are in fantastic shape. The neck has that rich, full feel typical of a true ’50s carve, making it equally at home for classic rock, blues, or fat, clean jazz tones.
This one comes in its original Gibson Custom Shop hard shell case and is in outstanding playing condition. An inspiring and vibey Les Paul with the looks, feel, and tone to back it up.
