This is a 2011 built Les Paul LPR-8 1958 Reissue from the Gibson Custom Shop. Finished in a delightful Honeyburst this LP really brings home plenty of vintage vibe and character.

This Les Paul plays as good as it looks. The early ‘50s rounded neck profile has a full-in-hand feel which will be right at home with players who like a chunky neck. The pickups sound great in all positions, with a rich complexity and quality tone at all volume levels.

This guitar is in great condition overall. It shows some light buckle rash on the back along with one or two small dents, but the top is super clean, as is the neck bar one small nick near the second fret. There is some natural light tarnishing of the metal, which we think adds to the vintage vibe of this guitar. The frets show next to no wear, the neck is large but comfortable and plays beautifully in all positions.

In all this is one of the better Gibson 1958 Les Paul Reissues we have seen – in terms of colour, high quality build, medium weight, solid neck profile, the beauty of the wood and accuracy of its specs. With the use of 55-year-old manufacturing techniques, Gibson has succeeded in the alchemy of creating a new guitar with the feel of an aged instrument without resorting to the relic process.

Comes in its original Gibson Custom Shop case in excellent condition and its Certificate of Authenticity.
