The story of the Gibson SG goes begins in 1961 when it was first introduced as a replacement for the Les Paul model. Later, in 1968, the Les Paul model would be reintroduced, but the SG’s impact changed the landscape of Gibson guitars forever.
Major US retailer Wildwood has worked closely with the Gibson Custom Shop for many years, creating fabulous vintage reissues, sometimes to their unique specifications.
This Wildwood Spec 61 SG it features a hide glue neck joint, a premium mahogany body, and their signature Wildwood Spec Custom Buckers. It’s a loving recreation of a timeless classic, and Wildwood believes that the passion that went into this collaboration has imbued these guitars with all of the heart, soul, and mojo of a vintage instrument.

Gibson Custom paid just as much attention to this guitar's electronics as they did to its aesthetics. Every part of its internal signal path was designed to deliver dead-on 1961 SG tone. Of course, it's next to impossible to find genuine '50s PAFs (even for Gibson). Instead, the 1961 Les Paul SG Standard Reissue VOS sports a pair of Gibson's Custombucker Alnico III unpotted humbuckers. The Custombucker is the most historically accurate PAF copy ever.
This guitar is in pristine, as new condition. Apart from some barely visible swirling on the pickguard, there is not a mark or blemish on it anywhere. No changes, modifications and no issues.
It has been set up beautifully with a fast, low action and pretty much plays itself. It is light and resonant even without amplification. And that natural resonance just bursts into sonic bloom when you plug it in.
