The Gibson Guitars - Southern Jumbo - Woody Guthrie "London House" LTD is a tribute to the dust bowl troubadour, in a limited edition guitar crafted from woods salvaged from his childhood home. These guitars are at their heart a classic Gibson Southern Jumbo, made in 2014, featuring a Sitka spruce top, paired with a Honduran Mahogany back and sides for the classic Gibson slope-shoulder sound. The fingerboard and bridge are two unique elements in the build that set it apart and make for a special nod to the legacy and childhood of Woody Guthrie. Milled by Gibson craftspeople out of oak floor joist salvaged from Mr. Guthrie childhood home in Okemah, OK, the bridge and fingerboard lend a striking look to the standard sunburst SJ appointments.
Includes the original hardshell case, factory installed LR Baggs Element electronics and Gibson Certificate of Authenticity. These guitars are in Mint condition. Partial proceeds from the sales of these guitars will go to Woody Guthrie Memorial LLC. to be used solely for the restoration of his Childhood Home, the London House, in Okemah, Oklahoma.
