An extravagant take on the classic Les Paul silhouette, this 2006 Gibson Les Paul Supreme in Desert Burst blends opulent design with rock-solid tone and exceptional playability. Featuring AAAA-grade flamed maple carved top and back, a chambered mahogany body core, and premium appointments throughout, the Supreme lives up to its name in every detail.

Finished in a rich, translucent Desert Burst nitrocellulose gloss, this example shows off beautifully figured maple on both faces of the body. The luxurious binding includes 7-ply top binding, 3-ply back binding, and 5-ply headstock binding, framing an intricate mother-of-pearl globe inlay, “Supreme” banner, and MOP Gibson logo. The bound ebony fingerboard features mother-of-pearl split-block inlays, matched with gold hardware, gold-tinted frets, and an engraved brass truss rod cover. Some light tarnishing on the gold appointments lends a touch of vintage charm and understated elegance, enhancing the Supreme’s aged appeal.

Playability is outstanding, with low action measuring 0.25mm at the 1st fret and 1.25mm at the 12th, and a comfortable neck profile with depths of 21.42mm at the 1st fret and 25.59mm at the 12th. The nut width measures 43.42mm, widening to 54.01mm at the 12th fret, offering a smooth and consistent taper. Weighing in at 4.02kg (8.86lb), this guitar balances perfectly on a strap or lap.

Tonally, the Supreme is no slouch — a pair of Gibson USA humbuckers with Alnico magnets delivers a versatile range of tones, from articulate cleans to warm, sustaining overdrive. The chambered construction adds resonance and clarity without sacrificing the midrange punch Les Pauls are known for. A PLEK-cut Corian nut, 17° headstock angle, and Tune-o-Matic/Stopbar bridge combo ensure excellent tuning stability and sustain.

In excellent condition, this instrument has been well cared for and remains in perfect working order — an eye-catching, powerful Les Paul that plays and sounds as good as it looks.
