From only the second year of production, this 2001 Gibson F5 Signature model takes its visual cues from the modified 1930s F5, dubbed "Hoss", played by Sam Bush throughout his illustrious career. The wider nut width, and rounded neck profile with a speedneck treatment are hallmarks of this signature model, providing a comfortable platform for those looking for a little more room on the mandolin.
With a full woody chop and a nice clarity to the upper register this F5 is ready for your next bluegrass jam.
There are a few minor dents and finish knicks, along with pick playwear swirling to the finish. There is a finish impression in the back of the headstock, most likely from a headstock tuner (see photos). While there is what we would classify as moderate fretwear the mandolin plays cleanly across the fingerboard with standard action. Here in Very Good condition, this mandolin includes a travelite case with built-in hygrometer.
