This used Gibson TB-1 5-String Conversion Banjo was originally built in 1932 and expertly converted by a fantastic local luthier. Arguably the cleanest pre-war banjo we've seen here at MSM, it plays and sounds great - and it really does look phenomenal. Stainless steel frets with an elaborate wreath inlay position markers, and an extra-wide neck with a compound radius for smooth and comfortable playing. Here in Excellent condition - especially for something in its 80s - it has some playwear, as you'd expect, and the rim has been cut to fit a flat head tone ring. A truly phenomenal instrument, this Gibson TB-1 5-String Conversion Banjo is the real deal. Includes non-original vintage case.
Additionally, this banjo comes with the original 4-string tenor neck that has virtually zero play wear, the original truss rod cover and pancake tuners. An old, possibly original skin head along with the original 4 string hardshell case is included.
