John Walker is a guitar builder from western Montana, USA. Inspired by rivers and creeks that he has fished, swam in or visited over the years he has build several models. This interpretation of a slope shouldered dreadnaught is called Wise River.
The Wise River features a red spruce top and bracing, with a hard maple rift sawn bridge plate. The back and sides are made of the most beautiful flamed maple that make the guitar look as warm as it sounds.
The neck is made of mahogany with a ebony fingerboard. It features Mother of Pearl inlays, which is also used for the logo on the headstock. The Waverly tuners with ivoroid button keys finish the beautiful looks of this guitar. A nice little detail: the oval label inside of the guitar is a picture painted by his grandfather in the 1920's.
This 2008 model has some playwear. It is noticable on the bottom of the back and at the top of the 7th and bottom of the 3rd fret.
Overall, however, the guitar is very clean and comes with a TFOA passport in a hardshell case.
