Luis Manteau's interpretation of the classic dreadnought model, made in Bordeaux, France, shows true craftsmanship. The Modified Dreadnought is entirely made by hand. Trusting the precision of his hand planes, chisels, and Japanese saws, Louis embraces the added time, resulting in a guitar that shows the love and excitement of his woodworking.
Because wood is a precious material, Louis limits his use of endangered woods. He carefully selects woods that express something to him. For the Modified Dreadnought, he selected a European spruce top with Madagascar rosewood back and sides. The neck is made of Honduran mahogany and features a Macassar ebony fingerboard. The guitar is finished with a "Morimoto-inspired" ebony carved rosette.
