My friend the great guitar and mandolin wizard Ricky Ferris says that great guitars play themselves. I guess that makes this vintage 1939 Martin 000-18 a great guitar. The wide neck late '30s 000 guitars have always been a favorite of mine. The 000-18 is responsive enough to fingerpick, yet bold enough to flat pick for fiddle tunes, vocal back up, or instrumental back up. This guitar has a perfect neck set and fret job. The body is crack-free and the finish is original, with only normal play wear and some buckle rash on the back. The bridge is a high quality replacement and only a tiny bit oversized. This is the kind of guitar that sits by my desk and gets played several times a day, just because it is so instantly rewarding. This 1939 Martin 000-18 acoustic includes a newer hard case too. In Very Good condition, seriall# 72577 - Jim B.
