This Martin Custom Shop 00-12 28 blends classic pre-war inspiration with thoughtful custom appointments, resulting in a highly responsive small-body acoustic with exceptional balance and clarity. The 00-12 fret body design shifts the bridge placement into the center of the lower bout, enhancing warmth and responsiveness while maintaining excellent projection for its size. Paired with scalloped Adirondack bracing, this guitar responds quickly to a light touch but still holds together when pushed, making it equally suited for fingerstyle and light flatpicking.

A full thickness V neck profile with a 30s-style heel provides a substantial, vintage-inspired feel in the hand, while the shorter 24.9" scale length offers a slightly softer string tension and comfortable playability. The ebony fingerboard features Diamonds and Squares long pattern inlays with select abalone, adding a refined, traditional aesthetic.

Finished with a gloss body and satin neck, this build strikes a balance between visual depth and smooth, broken-in feel. Additional details like antique white binding, bone bridge pins with faux tortoise accents, and a GE modern belly bridge complete the classic 28-style look.

This example has a small chip through the clear coat on the top binding near the neck joint. It is purely cosmetic and does not affect the structural integrity or playability of the instrument.
