Martin's pearl-bordered Dreadnoughts are the stuff of legend and the latest versions can certainly shoulder that legend in style. This D-42 gives the full glittering effect to the audience, but you don't have to pay for all the pearl on the back and sides as you do with the D-45. Thanks to the same woods and bracing as the D-45, however, the D-42 can hold its own when you play it . The Style 45 snowflakes fingerboard inlays, and snowflakes on the bridge tips, are a style used only briefly on the original pre-war D-45 models. No matter how you look at it, or how you play it, this D-42 is an impressive example of Martin's commitment to its flagship Dreadnought.
