O'Donnell Custom Contemporary Semi Acoustic Sunburst, 2014 [USED]

This very good condition O'Donnell Custom Contemporary Semi Acoustic with Sunburst finish was built in Melbourne Australia by Craig O'Donnell during 2014.  

This lovely, well built instrument is in very good, clean condition with very light wear.  The finish has naturally settled showing some of the wood pores.  

Sold with its original CNB molded hard shell case, which is also in very good condition. 

Materials and Construction

Using a single-cut body shape, the O'Donnell Custom Contemporary Semi Acoustic pairs a 2-piece Brazilian Mahogany back, routed to provide a center block, with a hand-carved, F-hole figured maple arched top.  The neck is also Brazilian Mahogany, with a Maple-bound Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard carrying 22 stainless steel frets and a figured maple head plate. 

A double-action truss rod is accessed through the neck pickup cavity.  

The finish is a gloss lacquer. What appears to be binding around the top and F-holes is really carefully masked and scraped maple. 

Hardware starts with a set of Grover mini RotoMatic tuners and a TonePros AVT-II locking wraparound bridge.  

The electronics include a set of O'Donnell built PA2 Vintage 50s Spec P-90 style Alnico 2 pickups, a three-position mini-toggle for pickup selection, master volume and tone controls and a side-mounted output jack.  The control knobs are ebony with faux-jewel position inserts.
