The PRS DGT (David Grissom Trem) is one of the most refined takes on the McCarty platform — a guitar built around feel, responsiveness, and musical control rather than flash alone. This example features a 10 Top maple cap, delivering the elevated visual character PRS is known for while maintaining the core voice and purpose of the DGT design.
At its foundation is a mahogany body paired with a carved maple top, producing a warm, full low end with clear, articulate highs and a strong midrange presence. The 25” scale length sits right in the sweet spot between Gibson and Fender territory, giving the guitar a slightly softer feel while retaining excellent snap and definition.
The DGT neck carve is a major part of what makes this model special. It’s slightly fuller than a typical Pattern neck but shaped to feel immediately comfortable, with just enough shoulder to support both rhythm and lead work. Combined with taller frets and a 10” radius, it offers a smooth, controlled playing experience that encourages expressive bends and precise articulation.
Electronics are where the DGT really separates itself. The custom DGT humbuckers were developed through extensive collaboration and voicing work, resulting in a vintage-inspired tone that stays clear and dynamic even under gain. The dual volume controls allow you to blend pickups in a way that’s more interactive than a standard layout, while the push/pull tone control unlocks convincing single-coil textures without sacrificing body.
The PRS Gen III tremolo and Phase III locking tuners round out the build, providing excellent tuning stability and smooth operation whether you’re playing clean, pushing into overdrive, or working the trem.
