Tim Scheerhorn built his first resonator guitar in 1989 and almost immediately earned a reputation for making incredible sounding guitars. This new squareneck was made by National Reso-Phonic in San Luis Obispo to Tim’s exact specifications. It features the large, L-style body with a solid Adirondack spruce top and solid Indian rosewood back and sides. It has an open-chamber design with six soundposts and an internal parabolic baffle which helps project the tone. It’s fitted with a special handspun Scheerhorn cone and a cast spider bridge capped with maple bridge inserts. The neck is made of Honduran mahogany with mother-of-pearl dot inlays on the ebony fretboard that’s embellished with ivoroid binding. The guitar is stylishly finished with Scheerhorn’s unique dual open soundhole rings, a traditional tailpiece, and chrome-plated hardware. This guitar has a Fishman Nashville pickup installed. If you’re seeking something truly special in a resonator guitar, you owe it to yourself to try one of Scheerhorn’s instruments.
