Here is an early Fullerton-built 1983 Fender ’62 Stratocaster Reissue in blonde, a highly regarded first-generation American Vintage model produced at Fender’s original California factory prior to the move to Corona. Built during Fender’s early return to vintage-correct specifications, these Fullerton reissues are widely considered some of the most authentic-feeling modern-era Stratocasters. This example is further distinguished by its provenance, having been owned by Jim Moginie of Midnight Oil.

This example features a February 1983 neck date and period-correct construction details including deep body contours, a dark rosewood slab fingerboard, black bobbin single-coil pickups with cloth wiring, CTS potentiometers dated June 1982, and a 5-way selector switch. It delivers the classic early-’60s Strat tone profile with clear, dynamic response, strong note separation, and a resonant acoustic character across all positions.

Condition is excellent with only light natural ageing, minimal fret wear, and a straight, comfortable neck. The hardware shows gentle patina consistent with age, and faint signs of previous sticker outlines remain on the back. A highly original and well-preserved Fullerton Stratocaster with strong tonal and historical significance. Comes with original Fender hard shell case, tags, manual, and ashtray bridge cover.
