Fender Telecasters are widely regarded as one of the most useful and versatile musician's tools available. This '66 Custom Telecaster is a prime example, and it will put a smile on your face. This one has an original sunburst finish with lots of dings, scratches & player wear at no extra cost – all adding up to the appeal of this classic vintage instrument.

Apart from that it sports its original features including:

- 3 colour sunburst finish on alder body
- Original nitrocellulose lacquer
- One-piece maple neck with C-shape profile.
- Curved rosewood fretboard with pearloid dot inlays.
- White three-layer pickguard (albeit now shrinking a little).
- Four bolt neck plate.
- Kluson Deluxe tuners.
- 25.5” scale length.
- 1 5/8” nut width. Three-way pickup selector with black switch tip.
- One volume and one tone control with barrel knobs (one newer knob).
- Control plate
- Chrome Tele bridge with 3 adjustable steel saddles.
- Strap pins.

It features a solid maple neck with the sought-after rosewood fingerboard so there’s no skunk stripe on the back of the neck.

Serial number 201xxx dates it to 1966.

This one is every bit a true classic, and definitely fits into the “great player guitar” category.

This guitar really plays beautifully with a spanking sound to match.

The guitar has some damage to the pickguard with a small section towards the top left being cut away. There is a rectangular impression at the rear of the guitar near the string ferrules. And, as the photos suggest, it is certainly worn – a good indication of constant use!

Weight is a comfortable 7.8 lbs

It is set up nicely with a low/medium action and comfortable to play in all positions, with no fret buzz and great intonation. The guitar received a refret prior to 2004 and does have some visible fretwear.

Plugged in the guitar has that unmistakable Tele tone - tons of spank and bite from a classic sounding Tele bridge pickup, and with a very ballsy neck pickup that has lots of character you can dial up some pretty meaty sounds.

Overall it is a great sounding ‘66 Telecaster in great playing condition. A true road warrior with lots of stories yet to tell.

Comes with non-original black hardshell case in good condition and also Fender ashtray.
