This ES-330 is a fine example of the classic ES (Electric Spanish) models that Gibson introduced in the late 1950s to great acclaim worldwide. The ES-330 model delivers a very wide tonal range for a vintage sound that can cover everything from jazz and R&B to country, rock and blues.
The 330 has a fully hollow body. This 1965 model is the last of the 330’s with the desired 16th fret body/neck join. The fully hollow body produces a fatter, warmer tone than semi-solid models, and is blissfully lighter in weight at a touch over 6lb. It's rich vintage cherry finish highlights the slab-figure maple body to great advantage.
Vintage Gibson ES-330's are excellent guitars, and very hard to find in Australia, especially in this condition. The hollowbody in this form gives you a manageable platform for exploring feedback, harmonics and overtones on stage, making the guitar feel truly alive.
This original 1965 ES-330 is in superb condition. The guitar has all its original hardware including electronics, metal parts, pickguard, and knobs. The tuners have been replaced with Gotoh imitation Klusons, and the bridge has also been replaced – both the original tuners and bridge are in the case and come with the guitar.
This 330 shows no cracks or repairs, and the original finish is remarkably free of pick wear, buckle rash, or fingerboard pitting, with only traces of light scattered lacquer checking, which simply adds to the vintage vibe.
The neck is fast and sleek, with a gentle "C" profile. The guitar had a refret in 2005 and the frets are perfectly crowned classic mid 60's style medium-jumbos. The original P-90 pickups produce a sparkling tone - clear, detailed and rich in harmonics.
Comes in non-original hardshell case in good condition.
