Here is a stunning and exceptionally original 1972 Gretsch White Falcon (model 7594), finished in its iconic Gretsch White with rare block inlays and the bold, gold-appointed styling that defines one of the most legendary electric guitars ever produced. Built during the Baldwin era in early 1972, this example is made even more special by a handwritten signature from Neil Young, an artist closely associated with the White Falcon during his early ’70s era.
Constructed with a laminated maple body and laminated rock maple neck, it features a bound ebony fingerboard with striking block position markers. The original Hi-Sensitive Filter’Tron pickups deliver a beautifully articulate and versatile tone, with shimmering highs, punchy mids, and a tight low end, well suited to everything from country rock to alternative and Americana.
Playability is excellent, with a straight neck, low action, and frets in great condition. The guitar feels responsive and balanced, offering both comfort and precision across the fingerboard.
Condition is very clean overall, with light lacquer checking consistent with age. The binding remains intact across the body and neck, aside from a small 1cm section missing at the top of the headstock, which is purely cosmetic. The front of the headstock has been lightly refinished, and the Gretsch inlay has been professionally restored, a common and well-executed treatment for this model.
